Finding Healing in Disconnection
There comes a moment when your body forces you to slow down — and if you’re lucky, that moment becomes a turning point. For me, ORO was born during one of those times. I was dealing with chronic inflammation, autoimmune flare-ups, and a growing sense of disconnection from my body, my food, and my culture.
That’s when I began to look inward and backward — to the traditions that once grounded me.
Reclaiming Ancestral Healing Through Food
I turned to what I knew deep down: my abuela’s remedies, the smell of simmering arroz, and the quiet rituals that lived in our home. I realized that ancestral healing through food wasn’t something lost — it was waiting for me to remember it.
That’s why I created ORO. It’s not just a brand — it’s a return to sacred knowledge. A way to reclaim wellness through culture, ingredients, and ritual. While modern wellness can feel out of touch, our healing has always been close — in the herbs, the recipes, and the stories passed down to us.
Blending Tradition With Modern Life
ORO is a space for people like me: first-gen, living ni de aquí ni de allá, looking to reconnect with something real. It’s a reminder that being Mexican American isn’t confusing — it’s powerful. And food is our bridge.
That’s why this blog will share:
– Modern anti-inflammatory recipes that honor traditional ingredients
– Ancestral rituals for daily grounding
– Stories that hold space for identity, resilience, and healing
This Is More Than a Blog
If you’ve ever felt like wellness wasn’t made for people like you, this is your space. If your healing doesn’t look like anyone else’s — that’s not only okay, it’s sacred.
ORO is about coming home to yourself.
One story, one remedy, one ritual at a time.
